Dr. Miglis completed his pre-chiropractic studies at the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Psychology. He completed an additional two years of Post-Graduate training as a Doctoral Candidate in Psychology at the University of Florida, earning a nomination to the scholarship fraternity Phi Beta Kappa and membership in Mensa.
Dr. Miglis completed his professional training at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic with High Honors. He was on the Dean's list for the entire four year program and was nominated to Delta Sigma, the honorary scholastic society of the healing arts.
Upon graduation, Dr. Miglis practiced in Los Angeles. During this time he co-founded a special training program to teach advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques to senior students at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, lecturing at the college on numerous occasions. In collaboration with Avery Label of Southern California, Dr. Miglis ergonomically re-designed their workplace to help reduce on-the-job back injuries. Dr. Miglis served as a treating chiropractor for the United States' Women's Volleyball Team during the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
His post-graduate work includes studies with some of the world leaders of chiropractic: spinal diagnosis and treatment with European pioneers--Dr. Gillet and Pletain. He studied radiology with Dr. Howe and treatment techniques with Dr. Faye of Santa Monica, California. In addition, Dr. Miglis is trained and certified in the McKenzie method for non surgical treatment of neck and back pain. He is the only chiropractor in Florida with this certification.
Dr. Miglis addressed the University of Florida College of Medicine faculty and students in the spring of 2005 on the topic of "Conventional Medicine and Chiropractic: Building Bridges in a Changing World--An Evidence-Based Approach." Dr. Miglis is a provider of chiropractic services for Health First Health Plans, UnitedHealthCare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, First Health, Coventry, PHCS, and Medicare. He is also on the panel of doctors for Health First Occupational Medicine.
Dr. Miglis has lived and practiced in Brevard County since 1987. He is married and has three children. |
